Mate has offered me his R reg, Bandit 1200. It's in good nick.
Engine has had some work, Did a 118bhp power run.

Other than that, it's fairly standard, Renthal bars fitted.
Cant remember the mileage, but I know it's fairly decent.

Getting it for £900.

Stuck a picture of it up on the Pit bike club, already had a fairly naive member of the forum put it down, by trying to relate it to the 600. Laughing

Anyway, Picking it up next week hopefully. Cant wait. Cool

If your used to decent handling of a sportsbike/sm style pit, might be worth considering the tlr front end conversion. Other than that, when you moving to folkestone? Theres a lot of high speed sweeping roads down that way.

That's real purrdy, and looks like a good buy at £900.

Don't normally like red, but is it flat red or is it that two-tone, smokey type of red? (hard to tell in the pic).

jack the back up!! Very Happy and a nice race can and job done

saying that looks on pod filters and a race can probaly dynojet kit aswell that alone prbally gives it 118bhp. im sure there 100stock and the exhausts is VERY restrictive

It's the metallic red. Quite nice. Although in the future I'd like a colour change. Blue, white and a bit of black. Razz

TLR / Busa front end is something I've already looked into. Quite an easy conversion too.
I've also been looking at slinging a Busa/TLR swinger on there, and R1 rear shock. Quite a popular mod.

Not moving to Folkestone now, I've just moved to a bigger, and cheaper house instead. Smile

As for it's tuning. It's been Dynojetted, Pod filters and sports can fitted.

Tempted to cut it off just after the collector box, and fit a stubby oval can rotated 90degrees right underneath.

Granted, it's been dynojetted which should sort out any exhaust changes but beware, as soon as I stubbied a can on my bandit 12, it royally fucked up the fuelling up till the point I had to sell it because it was unrideable. Laughing

Went for a ride with a guy who was on one, it didn't look keen on going round corners, but still looked fun!

Handling is fine. Real man's bike. Takes a bit of muscle and skill to hustle at speed round the twisties. Anyone used to a plastic fantastic would probably end up casualty after ten minutes of riding a Bandit 12 Laughing

Mmmm, 13:1 compression with a turbo. You might need a dust pan and brush.

All the best

Keith

It'll be reet. Shifty

Couldn't see a link for a low compression piston kit, although I'm sure it's on there.

What's your Bandit running at the moment by the way Keith?

Hi

Mine is 1216cc. Any more than that and you need to machine out the crankcases to take larger sleeves.

When set up for the flat slides I think it made 157hp. Suspect it has lost a bit of that now.

Trouble is that to get more power would cost a fortune, and mean pretty much throwing away what has already been done. It would cost barely any more to just buy a 'busa.

Don't think the turbo kits are that good for the Bandit. Yes you get more power (and the cheap way to get low compression pistons for a Bandit 1216 is to just use stock 'busa pistons), but to me not enough to make it worth the hassle of a turbo and the fun of trying to get carbs to work with a turbo.

All the best

Keith

Big CC racing bought my fucked rf900. The guy who picked it up was a bit of a knob though. He tried to tell me it was impossible to bubble up tyres on the road and that I shouldn't kid someone as wise as him. The only problem was he was a fat balding middle aged man who turned up in a knackered multicoloured transit and didn't even look it over. Really knew what he was talking about, even though it had dropped second gear, fifth was on the way out and the rear brake was piston on disc. Sure your a professional and you do things properly and check stuff over Rolling Eyes
