gas gas ec 200 clutch

hi. ive got a 2003 gas gas ec200 and the clutch doesnt engage on it.
i think it just needs bleeding, but i cant loosen the bleed screw down by the gear lever.
is there any way of bleeding it other than this? thanks

I recently did the clutch on my 250. Are you sure you're trying to undo the bleed nipple under the black plastic cover and not the banjo bolt itself?

i was trying to undo the thing that sticks up. i'll take the black cover off tmora to see if theres awt under there.
how would i go about bleeding them? loosen, squeeze clutch, tighten, release?

There's a black rippled cover on mine that covers the bleed nipple - I just popped it off by prying it with a screwdriver - just follow the clutch line down from the lever. On mine it was either a 6mm or 8mm socket I used.

Has the clutch ever worked on it or has it just gone?

If it's just happened then it might be worth replacing the seals on the slave cylinder which is just below the bleed nipple as air has got into the system somehow.

I reverse bled mine - took the cover off the clutch fluid reservoir, put a length of plastic tube on the end of a syringe, sucked up some fluid and injected it bac through the bleed nipple. Lots and lots of bubbles came up through the fluid reservoir. I kept syphoning of fluid from the reservoir and injecting more into the bleed nipple until the bubbles stopped. Job done.

ok, cheers, ill try that tomorrow. iv only just got it. off a mate who hasnt used it for ages. it starts 1st time bit when you click it into gear the clutch doesnt engage
