If you insist on posting about your one man crusade against 'the man' on this forum, can you please keep it to the appropriate section, IE Biking News.

Thanks. Confused

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Supoib. Thumbs Up

Just need it to spread across all bus lanes in London and it'd be fantastic.

Move to Bristol you can use most the bus lanes here Laughing, Swindon also lets you in a large majority of bus lanes.

Though to be honest there are few places where it is actually useful in Bristol, a large majority of the bus lanes I see are filled with parked cars, those that aren't normally have buses in them. There is an awesome one at the end of the M32 that lets you cut past tons of cars in rush hour though.

I should fucking hope so. Letting cars in bike lanes would defeat the purpose.

Is the cycle notation in the bus lanes for pushbikes only, or can we take it that it also denotes and allows the use of motorbikes .. ?? Karma

In London there is a motorcycle symbol that identifies certain bus lanes we can use.

https://www.eta.co.uk/files/images/motorcycle%20in%20bus%20lane.jpg

It's shit though because on some long stretches of road there are long bus lanes split up by side turnings into smaller sections and the motorcyle elegibility can sometimes not apply to small sections..

Why not just say all bus lanes are ok to use. Seems a simpler system to me and the signs wouldn't have had to change to add the motorcycle symbol..!

As far as I remember Boris was that one who allowed bikes in bus lane in the first place.

Motorbikes are allowed in bus lanes on roads controlled by TfL usually red routes. Most bus lanes though are under the regulation of local boroughs so riding in them will result in a fine.

We need to see bikers allowed to ride in all bus lanes across all 32 boroughs in London.

In my experience pushbikes and motorbikes seem to co-exist well in them. It's those buses that are the nuisance!! Razz Razz Very Happy
