Well, im doing mine.

Firstly you need to get the anodizing off the swingarm, you'll never get it perfectly shiny otherwise. Mine has been shotblasted, but any form of blast should do. Forks may aswell be blasted at the same time.

Various grades of polishing mop drill attachments, with polishing compounds, then get some Autosol to finish it off once its already polished.

Then you need to think about the fact its now bare metal. If you live in the midlands not too bad, just keep it maintained well, polish with autosol regularly etc. I live on the coast, so mine is being lacquered, kills the mirror effect slightly, but worth it for protection, still hugely shiny.

I'll post my results up on HHOC when they come back from blasting Thumbs Up

The best polishing tip ever given to me when polishing bike bits ..................

pick up the yellow pages & find a metal polisher in your area, phone em up and arrange to drop em off, call back at the same place a day or 2 later & pick your stuff up.
Coz by the time you guys have forked out for polishes & mops. Stood cursing burning the midnight oil while you try to get a decent shine on your bits, the pro polisher will have got the pieces 10x better for a similar price, while you utilise your time better sitting in the pub drinkin` beer watching the footy, or shaggin` your girlfriend aftrwards.

Confused Confused Polishing mops cost like £10 - £15 quid including the wax. Then you can polish a LOT of metal with all that.

Go to this site, they are really fast shippers as well.

Polishing does not take that long once you get the technique sorted out.

Thumbs Up

Just ordered the budget kit from there, even better deal than I could find on ebay. Thumbs Up Didn't bother with the next one up (£17.98) as it only seemed to have slightly bigger polishing blocks, a few felts, and a mask, which I probably wouldn't use anyway.

From what I remembered from when I ordered it was a few of quid. This is really an awesome set to have, all you need is a power drill and this will work very well with that.

Oh and looking at the set on there it has been reduced to £9 now, wow. Even better.

It was only £2.13, for a 2-3 working day delivery, so £11.49 altogether. They had a choice of next day delivery options too, for about a fiver or so I think. Bit of a bargain, I reckons! Thumbs Up
