Top bloke. Only Guy Martin could come out of a crash like this and be posting vids on Facebook and swigging mugs of tea a few days later.

Just spoke to my friend again, he's spoken to Guy, he's getting released tomorrow morning.

Apparently, he saved him self from dying. He lost the front end at around 160mph, instead of trying to control it, he just jumped off the bike, he reckons if he had tried to control it he would have hit something and most certainly be dead right now. Good call to jump off and not try to save it! I don't think I would have just got off the bike at that speed, but it was a life or death moment.

But maybe he could have tried to save it and succeeded and not crashed at all Wink There will be a whole load of scenarios depending on different decisions he made/could have made, main thing is he's doing al'right and can continue to drink tea for many years to come.

He said it wasn't something he could have saved, pretty much impossible, and if he had tried, he would be dead right now.

Deciding to bail at 160mph is not a choice I'd like to make.
That's one helluva crash though, my heart sank when I heard the commentary.

Amazing that he survived in, relatively, good health considering the circumstances. He seems to be making a speedy recovery, good luck to him!

Other than "losing the front end" can anyone offer any insight into the incident?
That evening Manx Radio interviewed a reporter, who was spectating at the previous corner, who said he was way off line, infact some spectators took a avoiding action, he was that close to the kerb.
Guy was on fresh tyres after his pit stop, was it a tyre issue?

That accounts for his sporadic hyper-active talking.
