this is probably better suited to the new bikers section, but hey im splitting hairs.

just keep looking where you are going not at your front wheel or the floor. look at a distant point when doing the slow crawl behind the guy, not him. it helps with stability. you will always go where your looking at any speed. remember your mirrors and shoulder checks before setting off at any time on the course. relax your grip on the bars and grab the tank with your legs for stability. you will be fine Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

on the speed trap, dont be obsessed with your speedo try and hit the right rev range for your required speed by ear. leaves much more concentration. oh and as soon as you pass the speed trap shut off. u dont have to continue at 32+ once your past it for the stop, so your already slowing before your braking Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Relax, be polite and confident, but don't be too afraid to let the examiner know you're a bit nervous; I made quite a few cock ups on my mod 2 and the examiner as good as told me afterwards that he'd let me off them because he put them down to nerves!

Also, not entirely sure how relevant this was to the result, but I turned up in full leathers and he seemed very impressed by this.

When you're on the road, just ride for yourself, and don't be afraid of making progress, remember, if he's a few cars behind you, he can't see any mistakes you make, although obviously don't take any risks to get ahead.

Overall, the most important thing I can think of is to not be the examiner, let him do that. Even if you think you've fucked it, carry on! Seriously, at one stage in my test, my examiner pulled into the next lane, which was moving whilst my lane was not, blocked it with his bike, and said, 'come on now, bloody filter, we didn't buy bikes to sit in traffic!' I got two minors, and that was not one of them!

Hope some of that was a bit helpful, although I am aware that I may have got just a teensy bit lucky with this examiner, who I am sure as hell not naming, as I'm not sure what I've written here would do him any favours if read by the wrong people!

Good luck!

I have just realised how completely irrelevant what most of what I just said there was, because I'm a moron and apparently I cannot tell the difference between a 1 and a 2.

For the record, I agree with what the bloke above me said. Thumbs Up

Again, good luck!

dont worry too much. i did my mod 1 + 2 at shrewsbury the examiner i had was pretty cool and not a bad chap at all. the ride there will do you good too as you are "warmed up" by then. i rode up on my 125 from ludlow (35 miles) but just make sure you get there in good time.
good luck and enjoy it.
oh by the way the high speed corner and swerve is/was to the left when i did mine in feb Thumbs Up (a shame i had been practicing going right for days Embarassed )
Thumbs Up

its easy enough but my tomtom wouldn't recognise the road name so i had to do a bit of asking when i got close lol. its tucked up behind some other buildings away from the road. google maps was no good either as it wasn't built when they took the pic Confused .
just get onto the battlefields park and ask someone, tis what i did.. Rolling Eyes

unlucky mate, yes it was malcom i had for my test. i almost didn't stop in the box too (how fast does that come up ..) the trick there is to shut off as soon as you are thru the speed trap i think.
he gave me a minor because he didn't think i was going to stop after the swerve but i did (just).
get it booked again mate

Took me a fair few goes at Mod 1.

Weather and my nerves got the better of me. Keep at it, it's not impossible.

Mod 2 on Friday. Neutral

Hi Very Happy,
Not been on here before but wanted to tell everybody I passed my Module 1 on Sunday at the sixth attempt! Shocked , So please don't ever feel that you cannot do it. I am an average height female and after test no 5 examiner advised to swap to a lighter bike, I was and still am on a Fazer (600), instructors/riding school bike. I tried an ER5 and I was plain awful on it, seemed light and flimsy! As I had already booked the sixth test, I took it on the sturdy faithful Fazer, for the last time, and passed, just one minor mark for stalling when I went to move off at some point.
So anyone beginning to lose heart, don't! I have a Suzuki 650SV, wedding anniversary present, which when I pass Mod 2, I am off riding all over the country, but my poor Husband was a bit put out, that he may have to restrict it, if I ended up on a 125 for my Mod 1 test, so he is probably just as much, if not more chuffed than I am. Module 2 booked for few weeks time. Thanks Dave McCool for the advice on the Mod 2, I will bare it in mind. Good luck to everyone for both of the modules....Happy Biking Thumbs Up .

Well good luck for Friday, I have mod 2 test next week, got a cancellation, but I suffer terribly from the lucky charm syndrome and so am not posting the day of the test on here, but I will be sure to shout it from the roof tops if I PASS. Laughing
