Just a quick note to introduce myself as I'm new to the board, my name is Ian Matthew and I live in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. I am a keen artist and motor bike enthusiast and have combined both my intersts to do some paintings of bikes, mainly Harleys(sorry), though my latest one is of a 1951 Vincent Rapide. I am getting good feedback on the Vincent painting and thought that the members of this board would be interesting in seeing it. If you are interested in taking a look , it can be viewed on my website which is www.alliwantisaharley.com
Appologies in advance if I'm breaking any forum rules by posting my web site, I did check the rules page and as my stuff is bike related it would be ok to post. I only paint as a hobby it's not my full time occupation.
Cheers
Ian

Those are really nice paintings, almost photorealistic too. Do you use a photo to work from, or is it pretty much all off the top of your head sort of thing?
Like the Vincent and the Bonnie one the most, btw, very nice. Is that you in the reflection on the Bonnie tank..?
Anyway, hi, and welcome to BCF ____________________ A Guide To Powerbands |

I would love to ride a Vincent, I think they're wonderful machines. Great paintings. ____________________ CBT February 2008 | A2 June 2008 | Yamaha YBR125 (written off) | Honda CBF125 (current) |

Welcome!
I think you've just made me want a Vincent as well ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

Amazing stuff, I especially like 'Admiring the View', excellent use of so few colours.

Really nice work dude! Have you tried any other mediums?
RE: your website, not sure how good you are at coding but you may want to look at "lightbox" which is a javascript you add to your site to show visitor enlarged versions of your paintings. It stops the painting being opened in a new window which can be annoying for some users. If you would like help installing it just drop me a line!
Im a graphics designer by trade and know good artwork when i see it, you sir definatly have some talent. Also might be worth you signing up with a free account at www.deviantart.com and adding some paintings there =)
Good luck with the brush =) ____________________ Squiffy_The_Wombat
