Mis-match tyres

So i realised my rear tyre needs changing this morning. No idea how i missed it but basically it is illegal

I'm a bit skint this month so I went to my local tyre place to see what part warns they had. I found a Pirelli Diablo Corsa III which the guy has said he will fit for £50.

The thing is the tyres currently on it are Pirelli Diablo's (not corsa's or supercorsa's or anything). The front tyre still has bags of tread on it so no need to have it changed.

I've heard a lot about not mis matching your front and back tyres but is that confined to makes of tyre or will it still cause an issue if they tyres are the same make but different models.

Should be fine.
Same make may still have different profiles. However, having a new and worn tyre on will also mean different profiles.

I dont think it'll make a huge different, all the bikes in my garage have miss matched tyres. (4 bikes)
And a legal tyre is better then illegal

Another one for saying no probs - had mismatched tyres on my bikes more than I have had matched sets and never any problems.

Ive got a Tourrance metzeller endurance tyre on the front of my strom and a dunlop sportsmax race scrub on the back

Lots of agreement, me too, I've not worried about matching tyres for years, whatever I can get the right size at the right price does, I do have a match on the XJ, but only because they were on when I bought it, and a matched set to go on, but only because I won a set, even then the back will go on before the first, can't afford to spend more money on tyres than is necessary. Matching sets is a privilege for the more affluent.
