Good but cheap cleaning!

What the hell can I use to clean the bike other than fairy liquid!?!?!

It must be cheap, good to mixed with water and a sponge.

None of this Muc-off, auto glym please. Cheap and simple, anyone?

And yes I know its been asked a million times!

When I bother cleaning bikes, I just use WD40 and kitchen roll.

Paraffin in a skooshy bottle on your wheels, metal etc.

You can water it down with asda's wash and wax. Avoid using it on plastics tank etc and make sure you wash it all off.

Theres some cheapo orange wash stuff that Hein Gericke sell by the gallon. I think it costs £14.99 for 4 or so litres. It seems pretty good. Much cheaper than Autoglym. But Autoglym is betterer...

I use engine degreaser on the engines, wheels, swingarm and that cleans ok. Its the plastic and paint i'm concerned about hence not using fairy liquid.

Home Bargains have alloy wheel cleaner that works as a good degreaser. 500ml in a squirty bottle for 99p. I use it on everything not painted, spray on, leave for about a minute, rinse off. Job done.

Kitchen cleaner/cillit bang.
Spray on, walk away for 15 minutes. Pressure wash off.

Easy as pie. As long as you rinse it off and regrease bits that are supposed to be it'll be fine.

+1 for the hein gericke stuff. Bargain at £3.99 back in the day although their prices have increased to £5.99!!!! That was good stuff!

Since I'm currently nowhere near a hein gericke at the moment, I've tried using the Muc-Off stuff and that was totally crap at £7.99! It wouldn't remove chain fling or brake dust even with agitation using a brush.

I now use the Castrol Greentec bike cleaner from halfords at £8.49. It foams up very nicely and removes the gunk off your rear wheels, brings out alloys nicely and my plastic is left with a nice sheen afterwards! It's about 1/4 bottle for each wash.

Cheap car wash stuff works but I find that I have to use WD40 on the plastics and alloy parts afterwards.

Fairy liquid is a last resort... I'd rather use hair shampoo or anything kind to the skin instead of fairy.
