Welcome to last month!
I suspect it was posted in Biking News or somewhere else that nobody looks. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Yeah this was one of their policies....'Ending the war on the motorist', so they weren't lying. Good effort!
Maybe the police will be doing actual police work now as well......I did say maybe!

I do get a little bored of hearing this.
A tiny fraction of the police have ever served in a traffic unit or have even touched a speed gun.
Most uniformed police spend most of their time dealing with the usual shoplifters/domestics/assaults/stabbings/drunken twats/street robbers/burglaries/criminal damages and rapes.
Despite the usual bile and lies in the Daily Fail, we get to the overwhelming majority of immediate grade calls in minutes - I think my BOCU has an over 99% I-grade compliance rating. The average response time is something like 4 or 5 minutes.
We get plenty of complaints from posh people who wake up in the morning, find their house was burgled hours ago overnight, and expect the police to turn up in 30 seconds. If we're free we will, but not on blue lights, and not if we are running to a more serious call - of which there are many.
Incidentally, we attend EVERY burglary, despite people claiming otherwise.
I dish out a few traffic tickets a month - but if you're stupid enough to do a red light or talk on your mobile in front of a marked police vehicle then you're asking to be stuck on.
If I see unsafe vehicles or appalling driving I'll stick people on for that too - I've even done it for a bus driver who almost killed me twice in the space of 300m on my ride home from work and laughed about it, blissfully unaware he was being a cock to a doughnut-muncher.
Surely we all want these people dealt with before they kill or injure a biker or some cute kittens?
I pull over plenty of bikes - almost always because they are being ridden badly by someone who doesn't seem to be in control, making me think they might be stolen. You show your license, it matches the registered/insured owner and you're on your way.
Surely finding stolen bikes and nicking bike thieves is also a good thing?
I wouldn't even know who runs the speed cameras in my borough, it certainly isn't me or any other uniformed police officer. ____________________ >Soultrader Mister James, I bet you are a copper

While many points you make are true mister james, for the regular law abiding citizen the only point of contact with the police is traffic police, so their behaviour will affect the public perception disproportionately to their actual numbers... ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

You give Mr and Mrs Average Joe far too much credit if you think they will think anything beyond assumptions and what they read in the Sun/Mail no? ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

Hey I'm not complaining about being caught - ok I AM complaining about it but not blaming anyone but myself. I don't even blame the cops on the street for that since they don't generally decide their own duties.
The only way you could genuinely think that any person believes there are cops that ONLY operate speed traps however is by exhibiting the same level of ignorance that you're suggesting they are. You can't have your donut and eat it ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
