hi guys,

My '98 Dt cut out the other day and i looked at the spark plug a br8 it was wet oily.

Went to the shop got a new one this time a br9 being the summer time. it had been splutter when hot for a few days and back firing but when cold or on choke it was fine.

Withing 10 miles it died again and was again oily.

I am now running a four stroke plug in my bike the equivalant of a '6' apposed to the br8 or br9 it should have and is running well so far and the sparky is a good tanned colour.

The oild pump is set up right jetting is fine.

please help Smile i know running a hot sparky like a am will start killing pistons

wet plug indicates massve richness.

Is your carb ok?

Maybe you have a leaky seal somewhere and oil is getting in.

A "hot" plug means that the plg runs hotter, not your combustion. It stays hotter and burns off all the excess oil/fuel that would normally foul it.
