For those that use BT45s

I recently paid £91 including fitting for a rear BT45 on my Diversion 600. I've always used them as I feel very confident in the performance plus reviews are generally very positive for the Diversion and similar 'commuter' type bikes.

How much do you pay for yours? Have noticed in other threads that people are getting two tyres for a 1000cc sports for around £120. My tyres are much narrower and presumably use a lot less rubber.

Just wondered what others pay for a pair (or single) BT45.

Although I haven't looked, £91 sounds about right, given inflation and the Divvy having a larger rear tyre than a CB500. Last receipts I have are for a rear 130/80/17 in 2005 of £82.25 (main dealer) and a front 110/80/17 of £73 (loose, local shop) in 2006 when I bought it.

Indeed, I haven't been able to find them significantly cheaper. Just a bit galling when my R6 riding mate paid only a bit more for a Bridgestone rear (can't remember the model of tyre) which uses much more rubber and is presumably more high tech. I expect low running costs to compensate for low performance!

A year ago I paid £130 for a loose pair, brand new.

They are expensive tyres and with a lot of the sport bike riders you can get race scrubs which are much cheaper.

Expensive tyres are one of the disadvantages of owning an awesome bike

Hi

Not a massive difference in cost between tyres due to size. Bit less rubber to make them but still much the same time and effort along with energy to "cook" them.

Also need to know what the price includes. Suspect those paying £120 for a pair of tyres for a large bike are just getting the tyres and does not include fitting even to a loose wheel.

I'm sure I paid ~£100 for a BT45 rear on my old GPZ just over a year ago. Supplied and fitted on site by a mobile mechanic
