Not sure the best section to post this really. (Mods move as required)

Basically me and my old man, are riding Vespa T5's 3200 miles to portugual and back.

Catching the Eurovespa Rally.

But we're doing it for the British Heart Foundation, that support London Ambulances, and i'm sure at one point we've all used them, or know of people who have..

Any support is greatly appreciated as it goes towards a great cause.

Hell donate 50p and write some funny comments if you have too.

Thanks all!

There's a point of doing it on a T5 2 stroke, leaving from terminal T5.

Obviously if we reach the target of £500 for charity, i'll raise the target.

The petrol and oil and parts etc, are all coming out of my pocket.

2 Stroke powerrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Cheers.
Will check it out.

I also promise mile long wheelie videos and side panel scratching cornering antics.

Not even 10p for Charity? You tight fecks!

I HAVE TO STRESS! The money you donate goes DIRECT to the charity.

I'm funding this whole trip off my own back!

However if you wish to send some spares my way, that'll rock.

While it's certainly nice to see someone trying to get the money going straight to charity and I'd be more tempted to donate with mile long wheelie and panel-scraping videos, this is what puts me off your chosen charity:
Quote:
British Heart Foundation: Peter Hollins, chief executive, enjoys a salary of £153,000

It is the way such things work these days, but it doesn't mean I like it.

I don't want to sound like a cold heartless cynic, but exactly how do you think the BHF supports the London Ambulance Service?

The BHF is a charity - as already pointed out a charity with executives and huge marketing bills

The LAS is an NHS trust, which means it recieves monies directly from the government. It doesn't require cash to survive or provide.

As much as I enjoy the idea of doing this for a good cause, I can't bring myself to give what little money I have to a charity thats run by people that earn over ten times as much as I do.

How can these people have the nerve to canvas for Donations etc??

I think what your doing is brilliant, well done for going for it mate but sometimes I think charity should start at home! Sorry

(I feel the same about any charity - there are people on this planet that are 'worth' far too much money ie Beckham, if these guys gave even ten percent of their annual wage, then us little people could maybe relax a little)

Small update.

Day1, left Ashford, hit Dover early, got an early train.

Hit Calais, bought a map Laughing
Headed south and hit Le mans by nightfall.

Day2, Took an hour to get outta shitty Le mans in the pissing rain.

Half hour on the road it all cleared up and life was sweeeeeeet.
Had one misfire just after entering spain, but it sorted itself out.

Lots of mileage later, arrived safely across the spanish border and spent the night just after it.

Day3, Had the intention of hitting Portugal but the sheer heat got the better of us, stopped for the night in Salamanca by the pool.
Kickass!

Day4, Bit of a shitty one on the road to Fatima.
The mountains through portugal really took their toll on us.
Blistering head, high altitude, and no wind.
Was pretty damn uncomfortable but eventually we made it.

More updates to come but it seems my time is about to run out on this pc.

Im heading off the the Algarve for a few nights just to kick back, before the trip home.
Manage 1400 miles here...
