Hey

bought a daytona 600, when im travelling at 70mph and i put the brakes on, they "shudder" a little, feel it through the bars, theres no handle bar wobble etc...just shakes through the bars.

also when in neutral, it sounds like the clutch is rattling? is this normal or should i getit checked?

also...the head wants to dip into right handers, not done many fast left hand turns, but on the right it feels like it wants to go in very hot...normal?

no freeplay in wheel bearings/forks dont move, head bearings seem fine.. Question

Hey,
When you pull the front brake lever can you feel it pulsate? If so i would suspect warped front discs.

I've never had a bike that dosen't rattle in neutral on the clutch. When you pull the clutch lever in does the rattle go away? Either way i doubt its anything to worry about Smile

Cheers,
Shaun.

He's lucky he doesnt own an old Z1000, he'd be convinced the clutch was trying to escape.

ok...so theres now an annoying tapping noise that gets faster when you rev it..
even if you pull the clutch in, if you rev it appears Sad
its not had its 12,000mile service...is this a big service? Also anyone in Kent fancy earning a bit of cash doing the service for me? If its big i take it valve clearances are due...?

Is it a tapping or a clicking noise?
The injecters are noisy on these bikes (i had a speed four) and its nothing to worry about if so.

As for the braking, are you 100% sure the headbearings are ok?
If these are worn then it would account for the juddering and strange steering.
Get the front end up and push, pull and tug the forks around, feel for any movement and notchiness that shouldnt be there.

If you were closer to me i would gladly do the service for you, but im a fair distance away.

The 12k service is a big one - valve clearance check, headbearing check/adjust etc etc.
A triumph dealer will charge a lot, try to find a good independent garage (that you can trust) and it will work out a lot cheaper.

Let us know how you get on Thumbs Up

Im not overly sure, i can hear it whilst riding, and if i idle in neutral you can hear a clicky noise which gets faster as you increase the revs

I'll check again today, cheers

Im in Worcestershire mate, a fair way from kent.
To save on money you could change the oil/filter/air filter/replace brake fluid yourself, and get a garage to do valve clearances and check headbearings.

I dont know what you are like with a spanner, but just checking the clearances isnt that hard, the only specialist tool you will need are feeler guages - less than £5 to buy.

I (and others on here im sure) can talk you through it and offer help if you get stuck.
Thumbs Up
