The wheels are not allowed to be enclosed ever since the days of this thing doing obscene speeds back when tire and brake technology was inadiquate.

There are various other aero rules like no moving aero parts, minimum and maximum heights and lengths of the bike and various other components. The rider also appears to have no room to move about.

Yeah but imagine just how obsene the laptimes would be For the lower air resistence you could stick a hugely fat tyre on the end of even more power could be put down which would make the laptimes even better.

That bikes a supercharged V max, cause they are sooo slow as standard ain't they! Laughing

The guy who got it working hasn't told anybody else how to do it as he doesn't need deaths on his conscience.

I need to lean off on my bandit or the pegs touch down.
Then again the suspension is pretty damn soft, anyone know if I can fail my MOT for that? :p

It's a well known fact that they are willing to overlook a defect of your choice if you've managed to grind both foot pegs on the road.

I thought the ACU did away with dustbin fairings as they caused more accidents tucking the front etc or if you clipped a kerb an the apex they lifted the front wheel off the ground more than anything else

So they say it wasn't to do with speed, but all of the above problems could have been overcome. But i think a bike with spec like this:

Power 78 hp (58 kW) at 12000 rpm


Worried them, as it was a huge jump up in top speed despite a fairly consistent gain in power. You would expect a 78bhp bike to do no more than 130mph with current aerodynamics, so 171 is 30% faster. Thats like having a current litre bike being capable of 235mph Neutral

Excessive movement, lack of movement, incorrect damping, leaking seals, free play in bearings are all MOT fails.
