CBT centre in London (Please recommend)

Asking on behalf of a university friend of mine who i've managed to influence - he's expressed a desire to take his CBT and possibly get into biking if he can do it cheaply enough! (he runs a car already).

He's spending summer with parents in Sydenham area of London (apparently near Bromley, Croydon, Beckenham) and he'd like to do his CBT sooner than later, so this would mean somewhere near(ish) to those locations.

Does anyone have any CBT places to recommend (i feel i should ask for him because i had a bad experience back when i did my CBT so i'm keen for him not to have the same and be potentially put off the whole thing) - he'll need somewhere that does kit and bike hire too! I've already had a recommendation for Southern Rider Training but as it's £119 just for a CBT i was looking for other recommendations (as i believe cheap and good are not necessarily mututally exclusive, and cheapness is important for him).

Southern are shit.

For £120 they promise to provide ALL safety gear. They don't, just a helmet. You will also pay £120 to get shouted at all fecking day. It's no different if you do your test there, no-one I know has a decent thing to say about them. My friend booked his £600 mod1+2 course with them, they didn't book any of the tests and the instructor is actually abusive to the point where it's disgusting. When I did my CBT, I went in there and the instructor starts off with "Another little cunt to train". From there it only got worse, by the end of my mod1 training I'd had enough. If you complain the woman on the desk only goes "I assure you that didn't happen".

There is one exception, they have one guy called Kenny who is an outstanding instructor. If you manage to get a session with him, you will pass first time and you will be a better rider because of him.

Steer clear of southern.

OK, i've just told him to avoid them (thanks for the tip). That sounded a lot like my own CBT with another company actually, so i'm glad you said something.

Still, any recommendations from anyone for (another) company?

get-bike in Ealing. They are right opposite Northfields tube station (Piccadilly line I think). £99 all the gear included, helmet, gloves, jacket. As well as cups of tea and a 10% discount + their sale offers in their shop afterwards. Got a helmet half price and a pair of sidi boots boots half price too.
