I tried flip helmet today. It looks ok and fits my head. At closer look you can see it's cheaply made but hey... £39.99. You cannot complain for that price.

I would like get one, but saving money, every penny counts

I have a waterproof suit they did a couple of years ago
Me N the mrs share it for jetwashing duties and is a top bit of kit, I would say very waterproof indeed, but can get a bit sweaty due to its extreme waterproofness

Bought the flip up helmet with the sunshade and the jacket today

Jacket seems OK, but the fitting sizes are way off
Bought a medium size and had to exchange it for a large after calling round a few stores till I found one with a larger size (which is still a bit snug, but at least I can move in it)
Could really have done with extra large TBH
Was a bit of an impulse buy TBH and maybe I should have asked for a refund rather than chase round the south coast looking for the next size up?

Helmet seems brill so far

Sun visor plenty good enough for riding into the low sun without me squinting, loving the flip facey thing
Sainsburies for a fuel stop..and they were happy to allow me to fill up and serve me with the front flipped up

Can use the sunshade down with front flipped up

Only /slight/ downside:
Little bit noisier than my old Nitro full faced helmet and noticed a slight draught around my ears on the motorway (may have been the vents or operator error though)
Maybe its the way of flip faced lids?

had a look at the helmet.. was a bit wary of the catch that keeps the flip down.. its not very thick plastic..

Bought the helmet today! and for that price i am very happy

it makes a damm good 2nd bash-hat and one i will use this summer whilst tootling around on my CG125

Tree separate vents, integral sun visor and room for radio= cant be all bad

My mum came back with the boots and waterproof suit for me the boots for £20 seem like a right bargain who knows how long they'll last for but oh well

Pretty much sold out of everything at our LIDL not suprisingly, but did manage to get a pair of boots, which for the money are ok and pretty comfy, we'll see how long they last in the lovely North Wales weather

Just been into my local lidl's and picked up a flip face helmet. Looks pretty good albeit you can tell it's cheap but im not fussed about that. The dark visor looks a tad flimsy but as long as your not too ham fisted with it should be very useful.

I also wanted the twin talkers but you only get one for the price so need to buy two if your going to use it for rider/ pillion style chatting. Obviously my local lidl's only had one left which isn't much good unless i ride round trying to get a signal from random people

Thanks for the heads up, Hornet. Bought a flip-up helmet today.. will
let you know how it performs if I have the misfortune to use it in
anger.

In normal use it seems fine, slightly quieter than my old Caberg V2 (but that's not saying much).

Also got some boots.. now need some rain to test those properly..

I bought one of those radio's prior to going to Ireland 2 years ago so mates and I could chat as we rode
Fine when stopped but on the move, couldnt hear much due to wind noise
We gave up and reverted to hand signals
Its still good now as a walkie talkie mind you

maaaannn that sucks!!!! Glad most of you got in there and got the deals,

I actually got in to my local at about 8.45am - they opened at 8am
though I had employed the services of my in-laws to get there earlier and 'reserve' me a pair of boots and a helmet.

I was in work and when my manager turned up at 8.30, i ran down to meet them in the aisle.

"don't look like they had any size 12 boots" she said rumaging through the helmets to find and XL.

Never mind, I really only NEED a helmet so try on the two styles they had - flip front and open faced, both in an XL.....BOTH WERE WAAYYY TOO SMALL!!!!!

Buggery........ will have to go buy one that fits now!!!

It must have been worth it, when I was there, an empoyee (LIDLS) was actually walking round to try and find the Radios, there was only 5 left and the fact that you had to pay for two....!!

Lidl in wilmslow have good stocks, didnt manage to tempt me to anything more than the boots but for the price they are pretty good, def better then my old ones.

they did used to do a wd40 type can but not seen it for ages and all the other wd type products around seem much the same price.
