Discuss.

I guess it's a safe pair of hands which is all you can ask for on Rossi's bike. No one's going to be faster than him with such little bike time.

I guess he's exempt from Rookie rules as he wild carded in 2002, and so has competed before that silly rule came into effect.

IMHO that was about the last time he was truly exciting to watch, since then he's never seemed to me to have regained the original kamikaze 'win it or bin it' attitude that made him such an exciting spectacle on the race track.

Should have given Spies a go on the Factory bike, that would have been a good race to watch Cool

Used to being the operative words. Why on earth would Ducati let him move mid-season? There's a reason that all the riders linked with Rossi's bike are under contract at Yamaha already! Wink

They couldn't, as he's still a rookie and the rules prohibit rookies riding for a factory team.

Just swap the fairings between the factory and tech 3 bikes. Give Spies the factory chasis Wink

I was hoping that this would be an opertunity to try out some fresh talent from superbikes/AMA/supersport/125's/moto2. But instead we are going to have an old guy who has proved he isn't competitive cruising around at the back of the back whilst Lorenzo fucks off into the distance again.

What about Chaz Davies?

Has that rule only just come into effect? I'm thinking about Kallio last year must mean it's a new rule (maybe it was Ducati that got them to enforce it due to the amount they lost in repairs Laughing )

Yes, it's a relatively new rule (came in at the start of this season, I think).

AND... as predicted...

He came last - three seconds behind the next rider (who managed to crash and still beat him) and a massive 26 seconds behind the rider in front of him. Talk about out of your depth!

Fair.

To be honest he's only got the ride as a thank you from Yamaha, and so he doesn't crash the bike. How many chances is he going to get to race in moto gp again?

I'd have ridden that bike if they'd asked me. Laughing

Me too! I'm not knocking him and he'd kick many good racer's arses, but it just seemed an odd choice from Yamaha with the constructor's Championship on the line.
