 |
|
Hello all, some advice please.
I've bought a grey import bike thats not yet been registered in the UK. It was manufactured in 1990 in Japan, imported in 1999 but the guy who imported it fell ill and it remained in storage until I bought it.
I've got....
Original Japanese registration document
Customs import document C&E 389
Declaration of newness dates from 2000 V267
Completed V55 form with my details on
MOT
Insurance cover note on the chassis number.
Proof of address for me
As the bike is over 10 years old I know that I dont need a certificate of conformaty. Is there anything else I might need to register ?

Took all my docs to the DLVA today and everything was in order - but because of non-sensical EU regulations I've got to allow 48 hrs for them to check that the frame isnt stolen - So I've got to go back for another 40 mile round trip and wait to be served for 35 minutes to get my numberplates - AND!! I had to pay for the privilidge. |

Luckily the bike is over 10 years old so it doesnt need a certificate or compliance or a single vehicle inspection. I know its all for a good reason but its all polished and ready to go - Infuriating |

Ok. They actually told me to come back on Wednesday to collect the documents. If I never went back then they would post Wednesday night and after Royal Mail have redirected via Glasgow I'll get them in 2011.
If I've got to take the bike I'm riding it - Bo**ox to them all |

And, after all that, you've not had the decency to post any pics or, indeed, say what it is!

silky666: He rode amazingly well considering his bike is the weight of a small van and had slicks on. |
