In the long run you are impacting (harming (term not to be used in literal way)) me.
Currently off roading is my main hobby ... its likely to change in 15 years when I am too old / change tac / take up golf ... but right now I spend most weekends green laning.
Met some great people .. always have a laugh ... and generally love it.
So Yes it does irk me when I see the oinks of this world doing 'whatever they like' ... hence I stick to the legal byways/roads/lanes.

There's loads round here that are illegal which i've used for years and never had any problems. To ride legal lanes i'd have 100mile trip on motorway's to do which on a 2T with knobblies isn't really an option.

I think regardless if people use illegal lanes or not they will all become illegal sooner or later so i'll ride where i like.
I think as long as your sensible and stop for people/horses you won't have any problems.

(in the last year or so i've seen less than 10 people on the lanes i use so it really isn't doing anyone any harm, although if there were legal lanes local to me i'd stick to them.)

Yes, but people riding illegally simply gives the ramblers and do-gooders more ammunition, and makes us look like the bad guys.

If you want to ride off road, find a legal lane, or an enduro/motocross facility.

To put it simply, the more illegal riding you do, the greater the likelihood of more green lanes being made illegal.

As for me, I only ride what I believe to be legal lanes as I don't want to get nabbed for riding illegally!

My statement used the word 'most'.
The dictionary definition of 'most' is:
in the greatest quantity, amount, measure, degree, or number..
Therefore I simply need to have ridden 7 times in the past 12 weekends.
As luck should have it I have ridden exactly 7 times.

I therefore stand by my original statement.
But take your point that I have gheyed out a lot recently and need to ride more.

Your simply giving the anti's ammunition. You must be so proud when TRO's get issued around the area you ride... Rolling Eyes

You lot need to chill the fuck out! Its not like I'm always out in places I'm not meant to be! I'v just found my self places where I'm not allowed.

At the end of the day. If anyone ever asked me to leave where ever I am, i would without question!

I don't care what ever you think I'm doing no harm riding on a dirt path!

Commenting on your 2nd point first ("i dont care what ever you think"):
You asked us ? ("do you guys stick to the rules ? ") .... why ask if you dont want to hear others opinions ?

Moving to your 1st point ("I am not always in places I am not meant to be "):
You didnt mention in your original post how often ... all you stated was: "so what if im not really allowed on that road? Im not doing any harm to anyone! ".
Well my opinion is that you are harming my hobby.
We are very much 'against it' with riding off road and fighting the powers that be/the ramblers.
It only takes a few instances of "I dont care/ I am going to ride it anyway" to give them the ammo to get the lanes closed down.

If your area doesnt have many lanes, then find another hobby , or change the discipline.. ie: buy a trials bike and ride the trial courses / ride enduro/mx circuits / buy a track bike and ride the road tracks !

You're wrong about that, because whenever you do it you're giving more ammunition to those who want laning banned altogether. Thumbs Down
