ZX6R which tyres?

Hi there,
Just picked up a 99 ZX6R.for.£1400 (joy) but it needs 2 new tyres. Advice please.

Depends what type of riding you're gonna get up to.

Mine is a mix of commute, pleasure and touring - so I have gone for; Avon VP2 Sport front + Avon Storm 2 Ultra rear.

If its purely a pleasure bike without too many miles, you'll probably want to go for something softer.

Be careful to get the correct dimensions, my previous set of tyres (Bridgestone) had a larger profile front (70 compared with 65) and it ruined the handling feel.

ZX6R + Roadsmarts = a very good combination. Type roadsmart and you'll get very good opinions. Good warm up & wet grip + longevity. More than enough for the road.

The roadsmarts are not bad, Slightly more expensive and better in the dry Pilot Road 2's go well on ninja's also

Avon VP2 Supersports worked very well on my 2000 zx6r. Diablo Corsa 3's were brilliant aswell.

But pretty much anything should be fine.

I had Pirelli Diablos on front and back of my 98 zx6r. Then changed the back for a dunlop bt something 09? Both good tryes.
