Look what I found today

Hey,

I had an interesting find today. My mum rents an allotment by the river a couple of blocks away from my house and every so often she drags me away from the Xbox to come and help out.

Anyway I finished the job she wanted me to do (carrying a new shed in bits down onto the allotment) and while she pottered about doing whatever it is people do when gardening, I went down to check out the river. As soon as I got down there I noticed this:

I've got no idea what sort of bike it is or how it got there, last I heard bikes can't float, even if they have had the engine removed.

Wheels, brakes and shocks look like small suzuki commuter 125.

Not gs but maybe one of the others. My guess is 80's

looks very similar to a 76 honda cb125 I just stripped down, that had mandrake tyres on it too and identical shocks as well. Get it on ebay

Only problem with dragging it out is I'd then have to either drag it up a ladder to street level or float it down the river

Methinks is definitely a 125, might go down tomorrow and clear away some of the debris that appears to be growing through the engine bay.

When I first saw it all that was showing was the back wheel, I had to move a ton of corrugated steel to expose the rest

You've discovered detritus from the actvities of a young pack of Scrotus vulgaris or the Common Scrote. Such objects are usually to be found amongst river banks, disused railway lines and other waste land. They play with the objects before going through the ritual of destroying and abandoning them. Packs of the scrote usually do this behaviour in the late juvenile stage before attaining maturity when they change their habitat to a prison cell.

Good find on the nature trail.

Suzuki 125cc.

Can't determine model exactly. But I am pretty damn sure that is a Suzuki 125 unless another manufacturer borrowed there design for everything.

Next job, pressure wash it and do it up.

If only it wasn't rusty, I would have the coil and the forks off you.

EDIT: Possibly not suzuki actually but I am 99% sure

I'd say definately a 125, i thought gs at first but i suppose it could easily be a cg or similar.

I am sort of tempted to find an engine to go in it and get it on the road as a proper rat, not one of these production rat bikes that is just a perfectly good bike sprayed matt black.

However that would take up huge amounts of time and energy I could be spending riding my current bike and becoming a better rider.



No contest IMO

I will clean it up properly though and take more pics, just for the lulz.

I doubt its a suzuki gs, Looks like typical 80s honda pressed steel frame, note the seam on the top of the top tube, I vote CB/CD up to 200cc, possibly cd175 judging by the rear half of the frame.

17" wheel is a bit odd. Was wondering if it was an SB200 but looking I am pretty sure it isn't

Shrouded forks and shocks count out most non pure commuters, so pretty much no chance it is a CB125.
