Swype for android phone

I read about swype a while ago but yesterday finally got round to trying it out. Its takes a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it it makes typing on touch screens Much less frustrating. Its in open beta at the moment so give it a try while its free

Here is the APK, just drag unzip it and copy the .apk into the root of your SD card (mount your phone as a hard drive obviously).

When it's finished copying, go into Astro or whatever file manager you use and find it (thats why it's best to stick it into the root of your SD card) and select it. It should give you 2 options, install or delete (or some other such nonsense). Obviously select install.

Then go to 'settings' and 'language & keyboard' and it should give you the option of selecting swype. Once you've done that, go to send a text (or anything that uses the keyboard) and long press on the input field of the keyboard (where the words appear when you type) and select swype and you're good to go.

I had it on my Leg-end but the screen res was wrong so it wouldn't work. That apk is for a droid but the droid's screen size is the same as the desire/N1 and the screen res is basically the same (desire 480 x 800, droid is 480 x 854) so it should work fine.
