These are for pushbikes, but can be used on the handlebar of a bike, although you'll struggle to hear much over 40mph! (and nothing at 70)

You're not going to get hearing damage from using headphones unless you've got the volume far too high. Using headphones you can have much higher sound quality than you'd get from those speakers which will just be really tinny.

Speakers attached to the bars of a pushbike or motorbike is very chav like.

Car drivers don't use headphones because they're able to have speakers that don't sound shit. A small speaker mounted to the handlebars isn't going to sound good, it'll sound as bad as music being played from a mobile.

Because my ears hurt with earphones after a while. And becuase you can block the sound out easier if it's from a speaker, if you need to focus on the road - same reason car driers don't use earphones when there's no need to.

Keep in mind that with the speakers in question, no one else will realy be able to hear it when on the move except the rider.[/quote]

Having experienced riding a GT750 with a Pantera fairing and in-built radio with speakers, I can vouch for the fact that although it's a laugh to have Classic FM blasting out up the high street, above 50mph it's pointless, and you look like a cunt.

If you want music on the bike, stick with in-ear headphones.
