...so naturally I went for a ride out.

I went from Maryport to Buttermere via Whinlatter and back by Newlands Pass. Not the longest of rideouts but the roads are amazing, especially Newlands, that road scares the bejeesus out of me.
The weather was lovely and I didn't meet too many cyclists/4x4's. I did have a few close calls with fast cars however, I guess they assumed everyone would be getting ready to watch the match same as I did.

Some more pics:

Thanks, it's perfect for my riding style at the moment. It doesn't go so fast I feel like I'm going to die at every corner but it goes fast enough to get the adrenalin pumping. Very Happy

Great looking scenery, abd a really nice looking bike.
Looove the look of that chunky end pipe!!

The scenery looks similar to Brecon / Mid Wales areas . . . very close to my heart Thumbs Up Wink

Thanks guys, Smile

I'm not sure about the exhaust myself, I think it looks OK but it is quiet, I mean really quiet. As in you can still hear the birds singing at 40 mph. Very Happy

I agree, the build quality is just unreal. My bike is 20 years old and it looks almost new.
Where did you get the 750 motor? Africa twin?

Yes Africa twin , my friend has a highly tuned 710cc carbontec Hawk which is a total giant killer and can out accerate an R1 on a trackday. Apparently bits will also swap from the pc800 which as best I know is the largest variant of the engine.

From what I've read they are really good bikes for tuning/modding.

However as I am a poor man Sad mine will stay as stock for the foreseeable future. All I've done is put some aftermarket levers on it.

If you get the chance to buy the 650cc version (product 1) grab it at any cost as there is a marked difference between the 400 and the 650 and the frames on these bikes are identical to the rs250 honda grand prix 2 strokes bar the addition of the centre stand mountings. It is difficult to interchange parts between the various models as Honda not only changed the bore of the engine but also the stroke .
