For anyone who didn't catch the world cup this tells you all you need to know.. Wink

My World Cup Poem:

World cup is back,
Time to fly the flag.
This year we're gonna do it
This year its in the bag

We lost faith in the keeper,
Rob green made a slip,
Still we drew with the usa,
but it was hardly worth the trip.

Next we took on Algeria,
A country not well known,
Yet we still failed to score a goal,
which made all the fans moan,

Finally we face slovenia,
A country we scored against,
where it went from here nobody knows,
we lost our entire defence.

Now we've been beaten 4-1 by Germany,
England are quite sore,
A quality goal by lampard,
that the 'ref' never saw.

But lets not lose ourselves to the game,
no need to be a grouch,
despite yelling at the tv,
WHERE IS PETER CROUCH!!?

So do not be dishearted England fans,
Although we are still raw,
Just remember this and say to Germany,
WE WON THE F*CKING WAR!!!

(yes i did just make that up.. thats a B in GCSE English for you) Laughing

Before the germany match was played, a German comedian on the radio said.

"It's a very important game. Well it is for England, Germany have 4 more."

Just about sums it up really.

Nice, although English writing ability (for exams) has about as much relevance as does understanding the locations of cities for Geography! Wink

Well, the funny thing is the rivalry is one-sided. The big game for Germans is not against English, it's against the Dutch. It's a bit like Scotland getting excited about the prospect of beating England when we just consider them to be our slightly irritating northern nerighbours...
