MotoGP is very very dull now that rossi is out. Moto2 wasn't quite so great this time, but it's been great so far this year! Maybe BBC should give that all the coverage instead?

Dorna must be really bricking it about what'll happen when Rossi leaves for good. Like it or not he is MotoGP and if they wind up with grids this empty, racing this predictable and the knowledge that #46 is gone for good they will be in real trouble. Or at least their desire to milk vast sums of money from the sport will be, anyway.

I suspect we'll see much cheaper litre bikes brought in as a matter of urgency, or at least some form of major cost-cutting. MotoGP is being shown up by its 'lesser' classes on a weekly basis at the moment.

MotoGP is too bloody expensive and gets too little publicity. If Kwak re entered and won the championship kwak sales wouldn't budge. Yet if they release a new superbike, or start doing well in superbike racing sales will improve massively.

Bikes are too clued up on the latest bikes to be swayed by the marketing that is prototype racing.

Moto2 works really well as it gives close racing due to everyone having the same engine. MotoGP could become more relevant, reduce costs and have closer racing if it were done using tuned road bike engines. This would make it easier for new teams to enter as you wouldn't need an complicated supply contracts, just go buy 6 R1 engines race spec them, build a chasis and stick on some fancy suspension and you've got a competitive racing prototype for a tenth the cost of current bikes.

This would still allow the factory teams to throw money at it if they want, would get grids full up, produce some closer racing and might actually effect sales.
