 |
|
I have this helmet: https://www.bigbikebook.com/15179/SPADA-RP750-FANGORN-RED-WHITE.html which states that its 'EC2205 Approved'.
My question is, is that the same standard as an ACU gold rating? Can I use it on trackdays? I've got 2 booked up in the next month and I'd like to use it if I can.

Pretty sure that to be allowed out on trackdays you'll need a lid with an ACU gold sticker. Of course, that's not to say that your lid will be checked.
If the ACU gold sticker has come off your lid then replacements can be bought on eBay (£7!?! ) to avoid trackday disappointment. |

The wording they normally use is must meet ACU/FIM standards.
My HJC lid has a TUV sticker on the back whatever that is, but nobody has ever checked. ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj

gold stickers mean feck all with regards to quality, any ECE-2205 helmet can have one, they cost £3 or so each to buy from the ACU, this puts money into the sport, if you go and buy a new shoei or dainese helmet they have no stickers on, theory being that not everybody who buys one will go on the track with it and that saves them £3 per helmet sold, now if you want one for you dainese or shoei helmet you can ask for one and they will supply it or charge you for one, and there you go, all it means is you've paid into the gold sticker "club" and if you don't have one they will stop you using it on the track, why the feck they don't have someone there who can sell you a gold sticker to get round this is beyond me! ____________________ Some people feel the rain, others just get wet. |
