Hi, I recently bought a Honda City Fly 125. The bike was too big for me, so the bike fell on the side, when this happened the clutch lever snapped. I have recently replaced the clutch lever and made an adjustment to the clutch cable, to the best of my abilities. The bike starts fine and ticks over lovely, but when I put the clutch in and put into first gear the bike stalls. Can anyone help me? Thanks Jessica

It just sounds like the cable is adjusted incorrectly, no biggie. You need to adjust it so there is a few mm of play at the ball end of the lever when it is fully out. Where did you adjust the cable, at the lever adjuster or on the cable itself?

Could be the side stand switch.

Are you lifting the side stand before you put the bike in 1st gear?

I dont think the CLR has a side stand switch, mine never did.

Definitely sounds like the clutch is adjusted incorrectly, try turning the ignition to on, select 1st and hit the starter...see if it trys to jerk forwards.

If it does, adjust the clutch cable.

They sell side stand switches for that bike Thumbs Up

But I agree about pulling in the clutch and hitting the starter.

Dont even pull the clutch in, leave it out... mine had a remote start and i accidentally left it in gear on the side stand.. came out to my bike sliding sideways Laughing

doin that wont prove anything.

in gear, clutch in, thumb the starter and it should start without too much trouble.

OK, fair point, but my CLR never let me start it in gear without the clutch in, until i ruined the cable. Then it was half engaged etc..and it jerks forwards when i hit the starter. Adjusted clutch and it was fine.
