Hi folks...
I'm diving into the great pool of change. I'm recently engaged and expecting a baby end of Jan
So... I'm going to clear for sale my garage and replace with just the one bike and want a complete change. I'm going enduro style.
I want an all rounder with a degree of off road ability. It has to be a mile muncher for long tours (e.g. I'm riding a 15 day trip all the way to Morocco for a 10 day tour in Sept) so must be comfy and I've decided to spend less time on tarmac road and do some organised trail tours.
I reckon I can realise around 10 grand selling my current stable and have been looking at R1200GS Adventures. ABS and traction control, balance, reliability, crash bars etc are all good points. But it's a massive bike.... I thought of the F800GS but I think it's not up to massive tours and is more off road.
But.... common sense is saying bank £5K for rainy days and nappies and buy something else perhaps up to 5 years old. And as I haven't experience in this class of bikes I don't know what else is out there.
I'm testing a GS adventure next tuesday, but want to look at other options. I don't fancy the Tiger or Multistrada though - the BMW while as heavy is balanced better.
I'm looking into a KTM 950/990 adventure... seems a good alternative and far cheaper.
I'm hoping you can throw me a few bones to chew on.
Please no 650's or such like as the bike must be for serious touring and regular 100mph two up with full luggage journeys. ____________________ Benelli. Happy as a pig in cacky. |
