Honda MVX 250

I have been looking at a 1986 model which is in very good condition but know little to nothing about the bike. Does anyone have any experience of them or has anyone ever owned one? Good, bad or avoid altogether ? Would it be worth the asking price of 700 pounds? Thanks in advance.

Never ridden one, but the engines had a lousy reputation for reliability (one of the cylinders being very prone to seizing), and suspect parts are now pretty much unobtainable from Honda.

Thanks, I wanted the bike for the novelty value more than anything although I have found it hard to find any info on the bike so will probably just pass on it unless he drops the price a lot lower.

LOTS of novelty Value! I'd never heard of one before, and its a 2-stroke from my era!
Presume it was a Jap market only bike then?
250cc version of the NS400?! Still with three cylinders.
Definitely interesting, but err..... no..... not worth £700 of my money either.
Though probably to some-one. I mean what do more common NS400's fetch these days?

The rear cylinder used to nip up, used to overheat or summat. Tbh, unless it's a really good example thats on the road and useable, I personally wouldn't because of the spares availabilty. Unusual bikes though, I wouldn't mind a go on one.

The ns400r models seem to be fetching very high money these days 2000-3000 quid for mint examples, a friend had one and it made the strangest sound for a two stroke and was quite a rapid thing.
