whats the hype with this place? Im on my phone at work posting this, but as soon as the bell rings im off to essex, and plan to stop off there on the way.
Will it be open then?
Is it worth the minor detour?
Anything else?
Eyes peeled for a shitted r6 with panniers and half made of carbon fibre. Aiming for about 8-9pm provided i dont get lost. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. It should be open but to be honest it's not really anything special. The food's expensive and unless there's an event there not much happens. ____________________ MKGaming.com

Only been there once. Was part of a rally of 1500+ bikes though, so was pretty fun ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

Ace Cafe use to be an old truck stop where bikers hung out as well, it has a lot of history behind it for older bikers and is nice to pop along even if it is just to say you have been there
A really good bike place to go to is Rykers cafe up box hill in Surrey, that place is usually jam packed with bikes and has some good roads to ride, if you dodge the pot holes and cracks lol. |

didnt end up going in the end, as i figured id rather get the trip over with.
My output shaft decided to leak like fuck all the way up, using 2 litres of oil, filling up twice per tank of fuel, covering my rear wheel in oil but still managed some pretty sweet 3rd gear wheelies on the m25 past about 6 lorries in the slow lane.
Plan is to turn up sunday on the way back from harlow and get rac'd from there because my rear brake doesnt exactly work at all. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. Its an old biking icon place from way back.
Prolly you would find it a boring, old fartery sort of place.
But its a place to meet, same as Rykers, Matlock or the various tea huts around the place.
But they do have interesting events, both cars and bikes.
All sorts of people turn up there.
Last weekend I took my stepmother (over from NZ) to "Diamond Day", which is a custom bike show run by the Chopper Club, lots of custom bikes.
Weekend before that I was supposed to meet Mad Liz for Sunday breakfast but I got there and she had forgotten about me. So while I waited for her, I had my breakfast and my mate Snob turned up from his Harley shop just up the road. I was kept fairly entertained (to say the least), haha.
Once I arranged to meet some girlie biker mates there who were going to see Tom Jones at Wembley, and that particular day, there was an (very small) meet of Smart car owners
Not very rock an roll, but we didn't care.
Although two weekends in a row is pretty rare for me, I do go there quite a bit, prolly six or seven times a year, for some event or another, or just to go there for breakfast. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |
