What is the cheapest 400/500/600 for a 17 year old to insure, might it be the gs500?

also what is the performance like on the gs500? is it anything on the sports 400's?

What is the top speed/cruising speed and how fast can it do 0-60?

Thankyou.

If you're looking for cheap all roundness the Honda Bros 400 might be ideal.

Your insurance depends on a lot of factors, including your age, the insurance class and age of your bike, your postcode, your gender, your previous insurance history (if you have one), any mods to the bike etc etc.

Go to a website like Bennets (www.bennetts.co.uk) as they have an online insurance calculator that you can use as many times as you want. Keep putting different makes/models of bikes in & see what they come up with. Although they may not necessarily be your cheapest option when you get your bike and insure it, the comparisons will tie in fairly well with the other insurers.

The GS500 is a great bike to start off with, it will give you confidence and its not to heavy.

Bare in mine only being 17 you would have to get it restricted to 33BHP which will limit the bike to about 95-100MPH, top speed without restriction is about 115-120 indicated.

When I had mine restricted it would easily cruise at about 80MPH, it really took ages to go above that due to the restriction. But now its unrestricted (legally cos I've had my licence 3 years now Razz) it cruises easily at 90-95MPH and with still more power to go.

Plus the GS500 should be cheaper to insure at your age with it only being group 7 and not very high on the bike theifs wanted list were as the sports 400's are Group 12 and are frequently stolen.

The only problem with the GS is you will get bored of it after a year or two and fancy an upgrade.
