Currently my horn makes a sound like a frightened kitten, not much use when 2 tons of metal and glass are hurtleing towards you while the owner chats idley on their phone...
so if they dont see me they are going to fecking well hear me Mwahahahahaha!

ok, so, i'm not worried about wireing them in thats not a problem, the thing/s is/are though..
Is there any specific way they should be mounted? i.e. faceing up/down? front/back?
As i understand it as long as its a single continuous tone they are perfectly legal? would the same apply with these? (they dont have a tune or anything, just one high one low fog horn blastyness)
I have prity much two places i can mount them, one is on the rack on the back, these would leave them for all to see, i'd prefer to keep them hidden, there is space under a side panel, the thing is there isn't anywhere i could mount it really, i could make some sort of brackett from pc case bits that hangs down from somewhere or gaffa tape it on and thats about it, i'm guessing it would not pass the mot in such a state?
Any other ideas or anything i might have missed?
Incidentaly i thought i was fairly mad doing this till i found this... https://bike.owns.com/ (look further down, you will know what i mean when you see it) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Not sure why your fitting air horns, but they'll sure as f**k wake dozy car drivers up.
Imagine hitting the horn button accidentally whils going for indicators.. I'd f**king jump off my seat and land on the tank ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

Lol i do that occasionally but my headphones are on too loud for me to really notice
That said i like the idea of having a BIG fuck off horn. Maybe one of them comedy ones, i could fit it in the rear hump and set it off whenever i pass people. Hehe that could be funny. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Does anybody actually hit their horn button while going for the indicators? I know I do it's bloody embarrasing. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

Answered your own question
But yes it will sure as hell get their attention! with the added comedy affect of them filling their pants i'll actually look forward to geting cut up so i can use em
They are £20 and i'd imagine they can be found cheeper, its not a bad price to pay for 100% gaurentee of somebody hearing it, theres no way whatsoever somebody in a car with music on and phone glued to their ear on the motorway would hear the current offering, they will hear this.
i could allways go get one of these instead... hmmm

Just a normal car parts shop, you'd get the in halfords i'd imagine not sure where i got the idea but i like to have hidden surprises on my bike, makes it that little bit more special
EDIT: i think i have worked out a way to mount it inside a side panel to the panel itself, it would be pritty secure, not mounted to the frame but not going anywhere, is that likely to be suitable? it would be faceing forward pointing straight forward, should that be ok? ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

There you go, that was found very easily by going to Google and typing in airhorns .
I have been wondering about getting some of these for my bike for quite a while, as it will certainly wake dozy drivers up when they cut you up if you make a sound like a lorry or a ship or something.
I was going to get a airhorn to fit to the bike, but also keep the normal horn as a very loud air horn is not alway the best thing to use when you want to sound your horn. |

I fitted those to the Bandit, the compressor just fits under the rear RHS plastics, a long piece of 7mm fish tank pipe from B&Q connected it to the horns that were under, and in front of, the tank behind the triangle side plates...
the biggest problems are air leaking from the system due to the length of it and getting a straight entry for the pipe into the horn without a kink....
I expect that it will be a darn site easier putting them where you are on the outside...more room to play with...
they are great and make ya sound like an Italian car...LOL...I wished I'd had the room to put the triple horn version....if ya use extra pipe don't get less than 7mm as it strangles the air and makes the horns sound like a Kazoo..hahaha
I removed them from the Bandit and have them in the garage as there is remarkably no where to hide them on the CB13

i have a air horn on my car, its so funny driveing up behind your mates and giveing a long blast of the horn.
It gets them every time, their laundry bill must be massive.
My car is getting scrapped this week so i might put it on the NS125R, only thing is it needs a lot of current to run, it doesn't work properly on my car unless i have it running, but my car has a crap battery though. |
