It's the first year of the current decade and already we've had some fucking IMPRESSIVE killers who will go down in history Very Happy so, who is your favourite of the year so far? Smile

The nominees are....

Stephen Griffiths the "Crossbow Cannibal" who chopped up a few smackhead prostitutes and dumped them in the river. He's also the only nominee who's crimes were 100% in cold blood and is still alive to accept the award. However his guilt hasn't been proved yet, and he's a blatant rip off of Yorkshire Ripper and the Suffolk Strangler, so lose points. Probably deserves a Public Service award though for cutting STD rates amongst Bradford pensioners, divorcees and IT students.

Raoul Moat definitely the showman of the 3, who has provided much entertainment in the past week and is the only one to warrant military involvement.... he has an 80s action hero name, a lot of lads on here could probably relate to the roid rage, and let's face it, if his ex was anything like her gobby sister (quote of the week courtesy of the Metro - "he has a face like a horse chewing a wasp") you'd have shot the bitch too. A lot of fuss for someone who only killed one person though?!

https://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2010/07/09/alg_video_raoul-moat.jpg

Derrick Bird clearly fancied himself as the Northern version of Travis Bickle from the 70s classic "Taxi Driver", he provided the most comic opportunities of the year. Killed the most people of the 3 nominees so statistically the most successful killer. Unfortunately gained far more public sympathy than he deserved for being a "troubled family man" when he was really just a fat goon with a shit name and an even shitter job, and loses points for being disorganised.

GET VOTING!!

And yes I am fucking bored, deal with it!

Also, Moat (moaty as he is affectionatly known) has a celebrity "bessie mate"

There has to be some points for that. Or it will make gazza cry...

..again.

Raoul gets my vote, Griffiths is old news, Bird was boring but Raoul was entertaining. He went on the run, he hid in a tiny village for a week. He had a whole police force and some of Metropolitan's shittest after him aswell. He had armoured vehicles from Ireland and a fucking RAF Tornado. He wouldn't give himself up even for some chicken. Plus I liked the lad.

I have known two people called Raoul in real life.
One is a gang member and convicted rapist the other a psychopath who killed a bloke for looking at him funny. It must be the name.
Moaty gets my vote, not only for the Gazza moment but for having the style to cut his hair like De Nero in Taxi Driver.

A friend of mine tried to give Raoul Moat a lesson on gun safety, but it went in one ear and out the other.

Clearly Raoul Moat, purely for getting military involvement.

You know you're in the shit when the army comes.

They're all C- must try harder.

The Crossbow Cannibal is egotistical because he came up with the name himself and he's an idiot because killing three prostitutes isn't very creative.

Raoul Moat and his war against the police was a failure. Sure he wasted lots of police time and money as well as making lots of people scared, but with one just kill, he's not murderer of the year. Laughing

Derrick Bird was quite good, but it was all over in a few hours. Moats final stand off was long than Birds total rampage.

So far, Bird is the best as he had the highest number of kills.

Ste has nobody ever told you it's quality not quantity.

Bird was good, random shootins and a good tally. But it was boring. No stand off, no tazer man gurning off his face on cowies.

It's quality and quantity.Razz

IMO they've all been as crap as each other in terms of quality so it's decided by quantity.

The gurning cop will be remembered for longer than Moat. Moat shot one person (not a random person) and then went to hide in the drains for a week. One targeted kill rules him out for murderer of the year.

That picture of the murderer at the top looks very similar to another murderer up here in Scotland - Luke Mitchell.

Can't find a decent picture of him to compare the two of them - just take my word for it.

Well the BCF Massive seem firmly behind Moaty, although Ste still has five months of 2010 to go postal and get into the charts.

Moat gets my vote - dodged the old bill for a week, got revenge on his ex, shows up Gazza then blows his face off.

I agree with Ste (mostly).

Anyway, I reckon it was a stunt by Gazza's PR people and Moaty is the fall guy.

(not)
Laughing

Yeah, the Crossbow Cannibal is lame, if he gave himself that name, what a twonk. It's all very well having a cool nickname, but the media has to give it to you and everybody knows the media always comes up with rubbish nicknames, so he had to make it up himself so he felt cooler. Loser!

https://agentgenius.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/loser.jpg

It should be Bird due to quantity in such a short timespan ... but he looked like he wore a flat cap and raced whippets, so nil points in that direction, too.

That makes it sound better than it was. Gazza was off his face already.

Only UK killers?

What about the Sleeping Killer?

Just for the timespan he was active and even then only caught because his son was DNA tested for a different crime

I think maybe you might also be thinking of the warped one.

Strangely, since the whole Moat thing Warped hasn't been on the forum... Thinking

Wee pic but there you go.

IMO, Bird is best.

I mean, Moat did try to kill the policeman, and the lassie, so if he had been a wee bit more competant he would have had three under his belt.

I was half expecting him to take someones leg off or something at that standoff, but nah. easy way out.

The Crossbow dude is a twat, undeserving of any title. +1 to the STI comment though Laughing

Dunc

Edit: Moat warned everyone on his facebook, does that win or lose points?
