Genuinely scared shitless this'll happen to me now.
I can't turn right to save my life.
Granted I ride a road race style pedal bike, at 30+ mph most of the time, so not quite the extreme of this guy here.
BUT, I have to slow right down and physically turn my handlebars to go right (obviously not if its a sweeping bend or anything tho)
whereas left corners, I can lean right over and not have a problem, infact I've had comments regarding how good my cornering is...
... to the left
shitting myself about getting an engine between my legs now.

Actually I think the main problem that guy was having was turning in too early.
There was obviously some target fixation and general lack of commitment going on too.
But by turning in too early he was in the middle of the road still pointing in a straight line (more or less) when the corner began!
At that point he should've been on the outside of the road pointed at the exit of the corner.
By being in the wrong place he dramatically shrunk the available space for him to make the turn in, i.e. made it tighter for himself.
Then the tightness is scary to see, and he bailed out. I'd probably do the same.
Wait wait wait, then turn suddenly. T'is the way. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

I'm not sure why I did this - I'm really bored - but here's my take on it. It's a problem lots of people have.
https://img269.imageshack.us/img269/5008/86430366.gif
The white/grey box indicates the area each rider took the corner in - ie the area in which they actually turned the bike 90 degrees.
Note the right hand rider therefore turned 90 degrees in a massive area, ie slowly.
The left hand rider compresses the entire turn into one tiny box of panic right next to the kerb, which would require almost hitting the kerb whilst at full lean. ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

He could probably do right hand corners just fine at one time. He probably learned on a 500 commuter going slowly (counter steering only works once the wheels have enough speed for a gyroscopic effect) and got used to turning the bars right to go right. Since then he has probably had target fixation and whacked a curb or something, and by trying to avoid doing that again, dug himself deeper |

He doesn't even move his head to look round the corner.
If you look at his other videos (which are crap btw) you can see he crashed on......you guessed it, a right hand corner!
There's another video of him taking someone pillion, I bet they wouldn't have agreed if they'd seen his videos first! ____________________ MKGaming.com

I feel genuinely sorry for the guy. It seemed like it was someone who was not confident in his abilities, trying to keep up with people who either have more balls or experience.
If I ended up in those situations when I started out, it'd probably have put me off biking for good. I blame whoever taught the guy tbh. Fair play to the bloke for persevering. ____________________ Bikes: 1998 Honda VFR800Fi, 26,500 miles
