...do you break speed limits?

Just thought it might be interesting to gauge peoples opinions on limits, and see how many people can actually manage an entire ride without ever exceeding one.

Other than my test, I don't think I've ever made a journey without breaking at least one speed limit.

i always treat them as guidelines, and nearly always do 5-10 mph over depending on the area.

On the whole I do actually stick to speed limits. In the car I do 80 on motorways and stick to the rest.

On the bike I stick to all limits except 50s and NSLs and I do 80 on the motorway because any faster is painful.

Usually i only stick to the 30 limit area's or if it's a place i've not been before i will stick to the limits then ( untill i know if/when they are cameras there, learn't the road abit etc.. )

I go out thinking, yer save petrol, take it easy, get off my estate, on to a main road, attempt a wheelie, then think fuck it, im already at 60-70 and just carry on. I cant sit behind cars either! It's a fucking terrible habbit, but it's just soo much fun!

Personally I tend to stick to the 30's, 40's and 50's but gun it in the NSLs.

Most traffic goes at 10mph above the speed limit. I usually do the same but occasionally find myself doing 50 in a 30 and slow down to 40. Generally only when it's fairly fast roads not through residential areas.

Recently however, I've been having lifts to work from a guy who drives a car as if he is in a race. He thinks nothing of doing 60 in a 30 residential area, and tailgates people.

The old me would give him a lecture, the now slightly wiser me knows he would not follow my driving advice, and it would just piss him off. It does make the trip to work a bit entertaining

It does make me wonder if there are a sizeable chunk of the population who do the same, as its pretty easy to spot speed cameras, and drive/ride like a loon between them.

It does make me consider becoming a loon myself, but i doubt I would really or not to that extent anyway. I think you need to be able to stop if something unexpected happens, not just go as fast as you can without hitting something, then complain if something unexpected happens and you hit something.

I stick to 30's in residential areas/near schools.
NSL's and 60's i go at a pace i feel comfortable with, although never much more than 90 mph - my bike aint happy at speeds over that
