One of the balancing weights has fallen off my front wheel, im hopefully getting it rebalanced on weds. In the meantime i need to do a few journeys, if i take the other balancing weight off will it smoothen out the wobbling or make it worse?

Make it worse.

I wouldn't worry too much. Some people don't even balance their wheels and have no issues.

+1.

Leave the remaining one on there or you'll make it worse.

Leave it off save a few quid...

Unless you get noticeable shake through the bike as a result then don't worry about it. Loads of people dont balance them Thumbs Up .

I would leave it donny but it has made it shake quite bad, i thought it was going to be a tankslapper when it first started to shake. Safe to say i shat one.

Fair enough, get it balanced then matey. If you take the wheel down it should only cost about £5, maybe £5-10 if they need to remove it for you.

I'm tempted by some of these in future:

https://www.dynabeads.co.uk/

They are reusable and go in through the valve, never need to balance a wheel again Thumbs Up .

I was thinking about these today. Maybe they 'work' because you don't need to balance a motorcycle wheel so in actual fact, they're just a gimmick.

Dynabeads seems pretty interesting, i wasn't looking forward to sticking horrible wheel weights onto my shiny new rims!

Dont 100% Understand the installation process though, they go through the air valve...?

you remove the valve inner from the stem which leaves a tube into which you put the beads then refit the vavle inner and inflate the tyre.

Will do - most likely to be if/when I start changing my own tyres. Either that or I'll find a pikey way of balancing them without spending more than £10 Thumbs Up .
