hi people got a gixxer 400 (gk71f) its a 87 model and it wont start...looking 4 bit of advise.
basicaly i had a short on orange n red ignition wire which poped the fuse, found the fault ,cut out dodgy wires and replaced with fresh wire and connections, then bike failed to start.
i have checked and checked again my wires but it was only 4 wires so hopefully im capable of changing them corectly. there is no spark on any plug leading me to belive it fried the cdi unit or coil pick ups when it shorted out. dont think its the coils as they useually give u a problem on 1+4 or 2+3 not all 4. i have also bridged out side stand switch just incase it was that still no luck.
any information will be greatly appreciated as weather is nice and its sittin there beggin to be thrashed down country lane.

do you have power at the CDI ? (+12v and Gnd) - can't remember which colour the wires are off the top of my head.

I believe you can test the pickup coil buy putting an ammeter in-line with it before the CDI, but i'm unsure on this (maybe someone else can confirm)

my GK76A had starting issues... my CDI had fried, but in the process of frying the CDI it had also damaged the wires from the CDI to each coil; maybe worth checking these for resitance/continuity.
