Would having a topbox increase insurance cost? Say if i added one to the bike, would i have to let them know?

Nope. You dont have to tell them, it wont affect your insurance.

Yes you do as it's a modification and if you expect it to be included in the value of the bike.

Shouldn't raise the cost though.

I was trying to get insurance on a top box as a modification on my new bike. The insurance went up around £200. It therefore wasnt worth me declaring it as I paid around that for that for the rack, top box and mounting plates retail. This happened with a few insurance companies, not an isolated one.
