mot question

Hello every1,
I need to know do you absolutely need a number plate light to pass the MOT?

do I really need to buy the light too? If i could avoid it it would be nice.

Hi

You do (assuming you have lights), although it seems to be one that is often missed (and looking at an online MOT book, it has a page whose title includes registration plate lamps but which then doesn't mention it on the page).

Guess you might end up with a "daytime" ticket (ie, lights not tested, daytime use only).

Ask your test station.... maybe gaffa tape a torch on for the test?

You do need the number plate light to pass an MOT.

You will probably get away with not having one though.

You have to have white light shining onto the plate, couldn't you drill a small hole in the lens of the tail light?

You could always say " theres not much point in having a numberplate light since the numberplate is tiny" haha
