Hey,

Back in 2008 i was involved in my 7th non fault accident...
The previous ones are minor and resulted is <£2500 payouts.
This one escalated to the 6 figure area...and since then ive found alot of insurers wont touch me, and those that do, barring the current insurer are INSANE prices.

The accident was totally the other guys fault, not mine and was settled this way...took 2 1/2 years, but was fully paid out etc..

Now my 600 renewal came through... quote online for £97.50.. which is current company as i get a bonus for staying with them..

But ive got swinton wanting well into the £4000 area, dial bikes is £3900 and about 5 more around £3500 the others cannot quote?!

Why is my insurance so badly affected, could it be a current outstanding accident that happened xmas day 09?

Hi

Is that 8 non fault accidents in total (including the outstanding one from 2009)? If so then if doesn't surprise me that insurers don't want to touch you. They probably see lots of claims and struggle to accept that you couldn't have avoided that many incidents or that insuring someone in such a situation is a reasonable risk.

The outstanding claim(s) will also put them off.

All the best

Keith

Outstanding accidents they don't like definitely (worse than a claim against you usually!) - and added to a high number of claims all in, it's not looking great.

Have you ever conceded bikes just aren't for you? Thats a lot of incidents for anyone let along just from a bike!
Ever considered some advanced lessons so you can try and avoid the people trying to hit you?

Change your bike jacket, it's attracting the accident providers!

True, i tried to avoid my one in 2008, driver didnt care anyway.. drove off afterwards leaving me toasted on the floor Mad

Bikes arent about staying upright anyway... Laughing but no i have never thought bikes are not for me, i love them lol...probably not the best way to look at it, but im about 1 billion times more cautious than i was in 08...

The xmas day one was someone pulling out of a "hidden" drive and just being in the wrong place at the wrong time, had i been speeding, i would be fine Laughing

Its not bothering me too much, as current insurer is offering fully comp at £97.50 a year... but i was considering a little commuter, a 250 or something, but even those are around £800-900 a year.

Thing is the car insurance is quite low for my age/no claims/performance car... no accidents, but still...i'll see how it goes with this open claim when it finally finishes.

mine has gone higher for my 125 and 100cc scoots then on my 400cc scoot and 100cc scoot

was paying 160 fully comp on one policy for both and now paying 200 for smaller bikes

1 fault accident
1 non fault accident
7 years no claims as i always protect

I would wait and see how it looks on renewall this year before saying owt....

Mine has gone up this year... Twisted Evil
7 years no claims, only driver (50+), no commuting, car is worth less and only does sub 6K a year.....
Over £200 Which is up nearly 25% on last year.......

I literally took out a policy last month on a toyota supra 3litre car.. i was 21 at the time.
Its cost me £1574.81 as a lump payment, which in comparison to insuring a subaru impreza...£4500
Its a good deal for me Laughing

You do get loaded for non-fault accidents, so I was told. My insurers said that even though I was not found at fault in the accident, the fact that I had been in the situation of having had one made me more of a liability.
