Anyone see the sparking elbows from Nieto? Cool

Also my guess is that Rossi will get a Podium finish

BTW does the Honda Moto GP bike have a dry clutch?

I think he'll get the podium on race day. In practice he was 4th or 6th or something.

Marquez just broke the 125 record! Surprised

You got to love the GP. Laughing

Rossi won't get a podium. He is lacking speed and stamina for many reasons. He isn't back to fight to keep the championship, he's back as a part of a rehabilitation program and will be taking things fairly easy during the race. He might have a go at the start, but by 3/4 distance he will just be trying to get the bike home in whatever position. If he goes for it he risks another crash, one that could potentially end his career, and i think he's too smart for that.

I'm no clairvoyant DaFrostyOne.
He's already done race distance during practise. And was consistantly in the top 6.

Quote:
he's back as a part of a rehabilitation program
...who told you that?
The only thing i heard was him saying 'I miss my bike'

He (anyone) could have an off anytime before the actual race. Morning practise...warm up lap.
He will do his best. He's a racer.

That new camera is awesome.

That crash on the qualifying looked nasty. Lorenzo looked pretty calm about his bike being on fire. I would have dropped it and ran just in case the petrol caught light or something. Laughing

“Racing in the next two races would be important in order to be in good shape in Brno (on August 15th), however I think we'll have to wait until Misano (on September 5th) to be fully competitive.”

"These two races at Sachsenring and Laguna are very important if I am to comeback in good shape for the last five or six races of the season and try again to win.

"For tomorrow of course there is a question mark but I hope to be able to finish; I think the podium will be difficult for me but top five would be a very good result," he concluded.

Rossi was 7th in friday practise just behind lorenzo in what lorenzo claims was his worst friday of the year.

He himself says that a podium is very unlikely and that top 5 is realistically a good result. Hardly sounds like he's going out for victory. He is using this race and probably the next one to rehabilitate. Think of it like a weight lifter who has pulled a muscle getting back to the gym. There is a need to build up strength slowly being careful not to aggravate your injury at all costs.

I think he can get top 5, but i think he will be suffering too much towards the end of the race to fight for a podium. He could of course still get one but i think it would be as a result of the difficulties and misfortune of others rather than pace, stamina and a desire to win. Yeah he wants to win, but he's smart enough to prioritise long term success over short term. Look at what happened to rossi's mentor Doohan. He rushed back with a leg injury and fell off again, it nearly cost him his career and his leg!

I'm glad to have him back anyway and hope to see him surprise everyone, myself included in the way we all know only he can Wink

A great race as usual. Roll on Moto2. Thumbs Up

For the GP I'm just hoping Rossi stays upright. If he bins it again this soon it could be the end of his career, or worse. He said the other day that he'd get to the end if he can, so presumably he will have the sense to take it a bit easy/pull out if he hasn't got the strength to fling the M1 around.

Lazy Sunday mornings rock.

I know what you're saying, but if there's the slightest possibility of a win he'll be fighting for it. He's just being 'realistic' and estimating that he won't be able to get to that position.

I'm just hoping for a good race, rather than Lorenzo or Pedrosa disappearing over the horizon.

That'd be a pretty restrained response imo. I can't imagine who would actually use them having seen that ad, it's possibly the most annoying one I've ever seen.
