luggage rack fitting to 09 vfr800vtec !
hi i have just refitted the full luggage system onto my vfr,
problem is there are four spacers that i have left out (on purpose) and i have found it has gone back onto the bike 10 times as easy as the first time i took it of and refitted it, (last time 4 hours 3 knackered knuckles a dad and brother in law!!)and what a bastard that turned out to be,
my question to any knowledgable honda operator is quite simply are the spacers that fit between the rack and main subframe of the bike nessasary ?
any help on this topic will be very much appreciated as i dont want to load up and tour scotland if i am risking my top box flying down the m6 !
regards
carl

Do the spacers go between teh subframe and the platics? I'm not quite sure what you mean... Any pics?

If they were designed to be there then yes....

If its so hard to fit them, then has something got bent.

Might be safe without, might not. Only you can tell if it feels safe and secure.

Biggest worry, would be that the bolts may not fully tighten up as often with spacers, the bolt has a unthreaded bit. Which may now stop the bolt from fully being tight.
