I've got the Coleman Solo set which is just two little pots with lids that can double up as small frying pans. This looks like the sort of thing that might be better for the pair of you, as I think the one I have is a little small for cooking proper dinners for two.
A bigger pot is better for boiling up 'bagged' dinners if that's what you're taking and also better for boiling water for drinking and washing if you're wild camping. Also you can pack stuff in them when they are on the bike.
I took a great little Light My Fire set for eating out of too - I know it sounds a bit twee, but it was great and very compact. It is an odd shape for packing though, which 'urrked' my OCD streak a bit!! ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

Just back from an 8 day trip to Devon and Cornwall with my son on our respective bikes. We also needed some cookware and bought a 2 person aluminium cookset from Tesco, at £7.33p {Catalogue number: 200-4142), available on-line or in the stores, but is a runout line. This consists of a pan, a lid, a frying pan, two plates and two mugs. Packed it has a diameter of 7.5 inches by a depth of 4.5 inches but there was room inside for wash up sponges, salt, sugar etc so the volume wasn't a probem for us. We did look at what Black's had to offer and their cookware was undeniably smaller and lighter but too expensive for us. The Tesco set was easy to clean and eat and drink out of - recommended
For cooking we used a Coleman multifuel stove which I already owned, these are around £55 at the moment. This was filled with pump petrol and refilled with a plastic pipe from one of the bikes. very powerful, easy to light and worked well in windy conditions, but difficult to set at a low level. Ideal for ease of fuel availability but perhaps more suited to long distance travel rather than a short UK trip, for which a gas cooker would be fine. |

MSR cookset... hmmm Trangia size without the benefit of the burner and kettle. I will never buy copies, always buy the original... ____________________ Gaffer Tape is like The Force.
