Heard this on the radio this morning, if you are 16-24 and new to biking it looks like you can get £100 from the council if you don't get caught speeding etc for a year. Free training and a go kart day too by the looks of it.

Thought I'd post it up, unfortunately I don't qualify Sad .

Lose £20 if you get 3 points....

Lose all the money if you don't do every one of the monthly quizzes

Hmmm.... Confused So not answering an online quiz once a month for a year is 5 times worse than speeding?

Hmm, I think that if I was in a position to take advantage of this scheme, then the first thing I would do is get in touch with:

West of England Road Safety Partnership. c/o Bristol City Council, Floor 4, Wilder House, Wilder Street, Bristol, BS2 8PH.

To check on the validity of this scheme Thumbs Up

I think you've misread it Laughing

When they say "lose all the money" they mean you don't get 100 quid.

They don't actually lose any of their money, just the chance to get 100 quid..

Sounds really good. Wish I could've qualified Sad

I did sign up with this after my CBT 3 years ago, I did all the monthly questions, put my bike through service or MOT (one of the conditions) and at the end of it I did get me £100 Very Happy
Not only that my OH did it at the same time too Smile

Haven't looked at the current link, but when we did it you just had to have a clean license at the end of the year and it was for everyone (no age limit, we were late 30's)

Had no spam from them either, just reminders for filling out the monthly form.

No, I didn't misread it, that was you Razz They've said that they'll essentially deduct £20 from the £100 they're offering if you get 3 points, so you still get £80; however, if you don't complete the quiz each month, you don't get anything at all.

They have probably changed now, but the questions were basic bike ones, multiple choice, like..... acceptable tyre tread depth, what must you wear on a bike type of thing.

What a fucking joke.

Why are young people today always being thrown money to do what people of my generation had the common decency to do anyway?

Next we'll be giving them free holidays to Europe if they don't litter and swear in the streets.

Buncha workshy, money grabbing cunts .
