eh up
SO
we have about 50gb worth of pictures that I want in the cloud somehow.
Where can I get decently priced online storage anything up to 200gb?
so far it seems to cost a fair chunk to rent anything!

Is this peronal storage? I get 50GB free with hotmail. You could use a few accounts until you find a cheap vault. |

I use dropbox for daily use, and archive every year because dropbox doesn't allow a lot of storage.
For long-term storage, I use https://www.adrive.com/, it allows 50GB storage for free. |

I cannot recommend Mozy enough: https://mozy.com/
It's $60 a year (about £45) and personally I think it is well worth it.
You have unlimited storage, it takes a mirror copy of the files you want and updates just the changes (so just one big back up then just whats changed). Easy to scheule regular back ups - it just sits on the PC and does it's thing. It's mega useful if you change PC's. Uploading all my family's pic's, music, game saves, word docs, favourites, email settings etc etc and other "crap" on to the new PC was easy. (Although we now use webmail cos it's available anywhere and on the mobile).
I can also relax in the knowledge that even if the house burns to the ground we will still have the vids and pics of the kids as babies / riding a bike for the first time etc along with other irreplacable stuff.
Also I will never lose my music collection due to a hard drive / back up drive failure (which happened before).
Get it, it's nothing for the peace of mind.
If you don't want to pay and try it they will do 2GB for free. |
