First of all I'd like to say hello, I'm a long time lurker but first time poster.
I passed my Mod 2 yesterday, bought myself a 97 Kawasaki ER-5 A1. I went for a 60 minute ride, stopped in a car park to adjust my mirrors and foolishly killed the engine, queue me running around for 20 minutes trying to bump start it without success (apparently they have a neutral lock, couldnt engage second with the engine off?).
I replaced the reg/rec with this: https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/Kawasaki/ER-5_ER_500_A1/97/picture/Regulator_Rectifier/. I've re-charged the battery which indicates 12.6v, 12.3v when idling. The voltage stays at roughly 12.3-12.4 when revving. Tested the alternator output, this peaks at about 70v at 5000rpm on all three wires.
All the connections seem fine to the eye though I don't really know which ones to check and how to check them.
Could anyone offer some advice? The only thing I can think of is to check the reg/rec output, I'm not too sure how to do this.
Thanks
Nicholas |

That voltage is pretty low.
I would always suggest fitting a new battery when a new reg/rec has been fitted.
Failing reg/recs usually take the battery out with them.
