hey ... just wondered if anyone here knows about this ...

i got done for speeding today 40mph in a 30mph zone.

can i ... and how do i ask to see the calibration certificate for the gun used.

i believe if it cant be produced, then the speeding ticket is questionable?

any help from anyone whose been thru this much appreciated! Thumbs Up

You need to reject the fixed penalty, plead not guilty and have the matter heard in Magistrates' court, at which time the certificate should be produced.

Bear in mind that this trick has been tried hundreds of times, the police know about it and the Magistrates are usually ready for it too. The certificate is likely to be all in order, which will see you found guilty and receiving a higher penalty than if you'd accepted the fixed penalty.

If you actually were doing 40 in the 30, I'd take the ticket. If you believe you weren't speeding, then by all means contest it.

That's pathetic, was that the best you could do. Get a black biro and put a neat number 1 in front of the alleged speed before your mates see it.
