My phone got wet.. What can I do?

Last night some slag pushed me into a swimming pool cue my blackberry getting soaked. I took the battery out after about 1 minute (should have done it faster), and left it to dry over night. Tried turning it on and it lights up but the screen looks fucked :/
Anything I can do to repair it? I'm happy to pay for a repair cause she told me she'll pay it but still... not pleased

I don't fancy your chances though, a friend of mine dropped her blackberry in a glass of water last week and whilst the screen did work eventually it wouldn't receive a signal and is now a glorified alarm clock :p

Just managed to start it. Everything seems to work, but when I type some of the buttons register the wrong keys and shit, and when I call the sound is very low and buzzing :/
Maybe after a couple of days of drying it will work better...

I dropped my Nokia E61 in a bucket of water last year.

Took the battery out and dried it but the screen was "milky" looking and not all of the screen backlights worked.

I ordered a new screen from eBay and carried on using it as best I could.

Before the new screen arrived the screen cleared and eventually the lights all came back to life.

Just try giving it a bit of time.

My girlfriend knocked her Blackberry off the couch into a pint of lemonade. It was a good shot lol. Whipped the battery out straight away and attacked it with a hair dryer for about ten minutes. Works fine.

I hope you're joking about the microwave! Anyway, dismantle it completely, and I mean every component, and spray some contact cleaner (NOT one with a lubricant) all overy every single part, especially the keypad, and under/over the membrane (if it has one). That'll force the water out. Reassemble and job done. Thumbs Up

If water has got inside the LCD itself, you can buy a replacement one. If you don't want to disassemble the phone, spray contact cleaner all over the keypad, making sure it gets inside and keep working the keys. Might help. HTH

My O/H accidentally left her phone in her jeans pocket and stuck it into the washing machine.... don't ask Rolling Eyes

anyway, I whipped out the battery and dismantled it as much as possible - then left it on the bedroom windowsill for a number of days, changing the position/orientation so that any water left inside wasn't able to pool anywhere.
Kept it there for 3 or 4 days and nights, then reassembled it, and everything seems to be working fine Thumbs Up

As for the phone. dismantle it and use a cotton but dipped in white spirits to clean the circut board. You are lucky the screen is ok. Dirty water will leave shit on the board so clean all parts and both sides leave to dry overnight again and if still not working claim the insurance. If you dont have any. Ebay.

Right, just reassembled the phone and everything works. There is a tiny bit of water damage to the LCD but not enough to annoy me. The trackball works but not 100% smooth so might look at buying a new one.
The only real problem now is when I call I hear some buzzing in the background, very annoying. Is there something I can do like change the speaker or antenna?
